In the year 2014, the project Wisewolf was born in the french city of Valence, brainchild of its three founder members Bastien, Joshua and Gilles, all previously known from different rock and metal bands in the region.
After a period of auditions and artistic research, the line-up gets to its final form in 2016, joined by Fabien and Théo. The band gradually finds its own musical identity, a unique mix of styles going from Foo Fighters’ alternative rock to While She Sleeps’ modern metal. The firsts auto-produced singles come to life in 2018, followed by an EP “Wild Mind” in 2019. Meanwhile, the combo regularly performs live on local stages, seducing the crowds by its energy and its proximity.
Thereafter the band continues to sharpen its style even more, in search of the perfect blend between wild riffs and deep melancholy, atmospheres from outer space and catchy melodies. Its music and its lyrics narrate a man’s life path, of departures, wanderings and despairs, through the recurrent themes of travel, nature and its totem animal, the Wolf.
In 2020 the singer Gilles leaves the team and Yannick Lefèvre takes on the lead vocals duties. The band takes advantage of the covid forced break to start preparing its future album “In Void” to be released in 2022.

C’est en 2014 que le projet Wisewolf est né dans la ville de Valence, sous l’impulsion de ses trois membres fondateurs, Bastien, Joshua et Gilles ayant tous officié dans des groupes rock et metal de la région.
Après une période d’auditions et de recherche musicale, le line-up se stabilise en 2016 complété par Fabien et Théo. La formation trouve peu à peu son identité artistique, mélange unique de styles allant du rock alternatif de Foo Fighters au metal moderne de While She Sleeps. Des premiers singles auto-produits voient le jour en 2018, suivis d’un premier EP “Wild Mind” en 2019. Parallèlement le combo se produit régulièrement dans la région Rhône-Alpes et séduit par son énergie et sa proximité avec le public.
Par la suite le groupe continue à aiguiser son style, à la recherche du compromis parfait entre riffs débridés et profonde mélancolie, atmosphères planantes et refrains accrocheurs. Sa musique et ses textes racontent le chemin de vie d’un homme, ses départs, ses errances et ses désespoirs au travers des thèmes du voyage, de la nature et de son animal fétiche, le Loup.
En 2020, le chanteur Gilles quitte l’équipe et c’est Yannick Lefèvre qui prend sa suite. Le groupe profite alors de la pause forcée par la crise sanitaire pour entamer la préparation de son futur album ”In Void” à paraître en 2022.
